POSITION DESCRIPTION:

To print a part based on a given CAD file, the data needs to be processed carefully. For example, the vectors along which the laser is guided need to be generated and each vector needs to be assigned to one of up to twelve optical systems. This process is called Data Preparation and is on of the keys to success for our current and future Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) systems. Due to highly complex geometries and the physical phenomena involved in the LPBF process, proper Data Preparation is a very challenging task.   • Investigate the LPBF process to lay the foundation for the development of next generation Data Preparation
  • Program our future Data Preparation using state of the art tools
  • Plan, conduct and analyze experiments using our latest machine generation 
  • Work together with our internal and external customers to figure out tailor made solutions

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent Certification in the field of Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical), Physics or Software Engineering
  • You are enthusiastic about your profession and strive to develop and push new ideas
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C# and Python
  • 3+ years of experience with software development, know-how in managing your own projects and conducting experiments is favorable
  • Team oriented working style while being able to independently manage your tasks and create new fields of activities
  • A background in Laser Powder Bed Fusion or similar processes is favorable
  • Fluency in English
