SLM Solutions is a leading provider of metal based additive manufacturing technology, commonly referred to as 3D printers, utilizing selective laser melting powder bed fusion technology.  Our 3D printers are designed to produce parts directly from a variety of metal powders.  The customers for our metal based additive manufacturing systems come from various industries such as aerospace, energy, healthcare, and automotive. Position Description

  • Develop brand awareness and positioning of SLM Solutions in the Aviation & Aerospace segment in all global sales regions
  • Identify and access new customers and establish new business opportunities in the Aviation & Aerospace segment in collaboration with regional sales management, application engineering and marketing
  • Develop Key Accounts in the Aviation & Aerospace field in close cooperation with the regional sales managers as well as ensuring long-term, positive customer relationship
  • Enhance and maintain the segment sales funnel in line with quarter and year targets together with regional sales team
  • Support sales channel partners and strategic customer projects
  • Provide overview regarding key data of the Aviation & Aerospace segment including relevant market trends
  • Monitor and report competitor activities with regards to their segment specific solutions
  • Participate at relevant conferences, congresses & exhibitions
  • Provide market trends and ideas how to improve competitiveness to product management & R&D
  • Definition and implementation of sales tools for specific segment
  • Develop innovate AM business case studies and publish customers success stories

Qualification Requirements

  • Engineering or economics master degree or similar, preferably in the Aviation & Aerospace segment
  • At least 5 years international experiences in sales, marketing or business development, preferably in the Aviation & Aerospace segment
  • Experience in additive manufacturing for aviation application would be helpful
  • Excellent analytical skills, with a strong understanding of account performance
  • Profound tactical sales skills in mapping accounts and decision makers
  • Demonstrated success in Key Account - and Project Management
  • Intercultural competence and sensitivity and a willingness to extensive travel activity in the international environment
  • Impeccable organization skills and the ability to keep projects moving and ensure deadlines are met
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • High attention to detail and strong communication skills
  • Fluent in English and ideally also in German
