POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The HSE & Facilities Maintenance Engineer ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while actively managing HAZMAT waste disposal and overseeing the facility’s maintenance plans and repair activities at Nikon SLM’s NAMTC facility. This role is responsible for developing and implementing HSE processes, maintaining regulatory compliance, and ensuring operational readiness of critical infrastructure. The position serves as a key interface between internal teams, external suppliers, and regulatory agencies to uphold safety and operational standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

CANDIDATE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establish and maintain HSE processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Cal/OSHA standards.
  • Manage HAZMAT waste disposal, ensuring proper handling, documentation, and regulatory compliance, including coordination with external suppliers.
  • Develop and oversee facility maintenance plans, ensuring scheduled inspections, repairs, and infrastructure upkeep to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate and manage maintenance work, including vendor management, repair scheduling, and emergency response for facility-related issues.
  • Monitor and maintain HSE dashboards to track safety performance, compliance metrics, and facility maintenance schedules.
  • Act as the official representative for HSE management for Nikon SLM NA.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HSE management, HAZMAT waste disposal, and facility maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, waste management processes, and facility maintenance best practices.
  • Operational mindset with excellent planning, execution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in a global environment and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Forklift certification (training provided on-site if not already obtained).
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and process adherence skills.
