Position Descriptions: 

  • Work on programs/products by investigating technical solutions and by defining and performing laser specific tests
  • Flow down system requirement to optical unit level requirements
  • Establish optical unit qualification plan and test procedures
  • Design optical components and modules
  • Cooperate with engineering teams, IP team, production, quality and service to enable best solutions regarding lasers and optics
  • Operation of an optics lab and corresponding measurement equipment

Qualification and Requirements: 

  • Master's degree or equivalent certification in the field of engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Aerospace) or Physics with focus on optical systems
  • Experience with L-PBF process and machine equipment
  • 3+ years of experience in the field of scanning systems for laser materials processing
  • Expertise in at least one of the fields of optical component design, optical path design, electronics, optics assembly
  • Ability to anticipate potential industrialization issues and address design in advance to overcome them
  • Fluent in English
