The Senior Model Integration Engineer is responsible for converting overall Product Management requirements and System Engineering design intent into Nikon SLM Products and ensure the integrity of the BoM throughout the product lifecycle.
  • You take a lead role in the overall product integration within design tools and database
  • You will have oversight of all mechanical and electrical interfaces at module and unit level
  • Own and maintain Type Design Bill of Material
  • Responsibility for initial concepts and the definition of the final product layout, as well as checking and releasing system drawings
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with system engineers and test engineers amongst others to ensure designs meet all requirements and establish High and Low-Level Product Break-down structures
  • Lead and support the design and the design review process
  • Technical ownership and documentation of structural integrity of products and sub-assemblies using simulations, calculations and FMEA


  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in an engineering field (Mechanical, Aerospace)
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional 3D/2D CAD experience developing and integrating high technology content products in an Aerospace, Automotive or Medical company
  • Good knowledge of product lifecycle management, change management and configuration control procedures, as well as related implications
  • Excellent understanding of industrial systems and machines, with the ability to anticipate potential design and industrialization issues
  • Ability to understand and translate requirements into work packages, system interfaces and design solutions
  • Excellent understanding of FMEA, impact analysis and tolerance stack-up analysis
  • Knowledge of design for scalability, reliability, repeatability, and reproducibility
