POSITION DESCRIPTION:

One of the crucial steps in generating a physical object from a CAD file using Laser Powder Bed Fusion is to create the path along which each laser spot travels. This process, called Data Preparation, is very challenging. This is mainly due to highly complex geometries and the physical phenomena involved. Tackling it requires 
  • knowledge on the governing physical phenomena of the LPBF process
  • mastering the math behind managing multiple laser spots at once 
  • software engineering to make your ideas come alive

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • You are enthusiastic about your profession and strive to develop and push new ideas
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, C# and Python
  • 3+ years experience with software development, know-how in managing your own projects and conducting experiments is favorable
  • Team oriented working style while being able to independently manage your workload and create new fields of activities
  • Master Degree or equivalent Certification in the field of Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical), Physics or Software Engineering
  • A background in Laser Powder Bed Fusion or similar processes is favorable
  • Fluency in English
