POSITION DESCRIPTION:
In this position you will be an essential part of the laser and optics team. Together with experts from around the world you will lead the development of the central hardware part of a new generation of 3D printers. You will:
- Drive the development process and project phases according to system requirements and Nikon SLM machines' features. Discussing and defining interfaces and requirements
- Develop measurement and calibration tools according to requirements on all levels such as HW, SW, process description
- Focus on Nikon SLM’s NXG machine and future product portfolio
- Take on organizational and coordinative tasks in projects, including organizing technical meetings and overseeing the status of deliverables
- Test design and test evaluation to meet the required features
- Operate of an optics lab and measurement equipment
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering, optical technology, physics or comparable
- Can do attitude and willingness to develop cutting edge optical heads that shape the future of additive manufacturing
- Knowledge of laser systems, optical systems and their calibration
- Organizational and coordinative tasks in projects, including organizing technical meetings and overseeing the status on deliverables
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical content and drive decisions
- Empathic team player and ability to work in a rapidly evolving environment
- Optical simulation skills using Zemax, Oslo, LightTrans and alike are considered a plus
