POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As the Senior Accounting Manager, you will be a key leader in our U.S. finance operations, managing financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. This role requires a strong foundation in IFRS, US-GAAP, and SOX/JSOX requirements, as well as hands-on involvement in day-to-day financial and operational functions. You will collaborate closely with our headquarters in Germany and internal teams to ensure alignment with global financial governance and strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

CANDIDATE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead financial operations for the U.S. entity, ensuring compliance with IFRS and US-GAAP standards.
  • Oversee month-end close processes, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Develop and implement new financial governance frameworks to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Nikon SLM headquarters to align U.S. operations with global standards.
  • Manage U.S. tax filings, registrations, and compliance matters.
  • Lead payroll processing, accounts payable, and cash flow management.
  • Support inventory management and production with strong operational insight.
  • Maintain and optimize ERP systems (SAP S4/Hana and QuickBooks preferred).
  • Ensure compliance with SOX/JSOX documentation and internal control requirements.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects with tight deadlines.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders including the President, COO, and Group CFO.
  • Provide leadership to a small U.S. finance team and foster a collaborative, solution-oriented culture.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, including team leadership.
  • Deep knowledge of IFRS, US-GAAP, and SOX/JSOX compliance.
  • Experience with U.S. tax regulations and payroll.
  • Operational understanding of manufacturing and inventory management.
  • Proficient in ERP systems such as SAP S4/Hana and QuickBooks.
  • Proven ability to implement new processes and troubleshoot effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong execution mindset and ability to manage cross-functional initiatives.
