ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are looking for a proactive and well-organized (Senior) Information Security Specialist with a good practical understanding of enterprise IT environments and how IT is managed in a business context, together with solid information security knowledge, strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently.
The role operates in a regulated industrial environment where information security, cybersecurity standards and compliance requirements are an important part of the business, with close interaction with IT, Engineering, and other technical functions.
This role will independently manage assigned information security activities, recurring processes and selected security and compliance initiatives, working closely with relevant stakeholders across the organization.
This person is expected to work with a high degree of autonomy within assigned areas, manage assigned activities effectively within established priorities, take ownership of recurring responsibilities and drive topics to completion, while escalating strategic, high-impact decisions or matters outside assigned responsibilities where appropriate.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- First-Level Support: Handle information security inquiries through the ticketing system, ensuring timely triage, documentation and escalation, and coordinate resolution with relevant stakeholders
- ISMS Activities: Manage assigned activities related to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Information Security Management System (ISMS), including documentation, compliance activities and policy maintenance, working with relevant internal stakeholders
- Supplier Security Assessments: Perform and coordinate recurring security assessments of suppliers and third parties using established criteria and processes, identify relevant issues and follow up on required actions
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with IT, Engineering, Legal, Procurement and other departments to understand requirements, contribute to security initiatives, and identify and raise relevant information security risks, control gaps and improvement opportunities arising through assigned activities, projects and assessments
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant professional experience in information security, cybersecurity or IT security
- Good understanding of IT fundamentals and common enterprise IT management practices, including networks, operating systems, identity and access, endpoints and enterprise environments
- Good understanding of key information security standards and regulatory requirements applicable in Europe; familiarity with relevant US cybersecurity and compliance frameworks is an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand technical discussions, independently research unfamiliar topics, identify dependencies and risks, and build understanding in complex situations
- Ability to assess information security risks in context and provide practical, proportionate recommendations
- Strong self-organization and initiative, with the ability to plan and organize work effectively within established priorities, track activities and take ownership of assigned responsibilities
- Good communication skills, with the ability to explain information security topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- German language skills and relevant security certifications are an advantage
