POSITION DESCRIPTION:
In this position you will be an essential part of the laser and optics team. Together with experts from around the world you will play a key role in the development of the central hardware part of a new generation of 3D printers. You will:
- Drive and coordinate the development process and project phases according to system requirements and Nikon SLM machines' features
- Align and define system requirements and interfaces
- Develop measurement and calibration tools according to requirements on all levels such as HW, SW, process description
- Focus on Nikon SLM’s NXG machine and future product portfolio
- Take on organizational and coordinative tasks in projects, including organizing technical meetings and overseeing the status of deliverables
- Test design and test evaluation to meet the required features
- Operate an optics lab and measurement equipment
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering, optical technology, physics or comparable
- Hands-on, pragmatic mindset with a focus on delivering working solutions under real-world constraints
- Solid understanding of laser and optical systems, including their integration and calibration in complex environments
- Organizational and coordinative tasks in projects, including organizing technical meetings and overseeing the status on deliverables
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics and facilitate decision-making
- Empathic team player and ability to work in a rapidly evolving environment
- Optical simulation skills using Zemax, Oslo, LightTrans and alike are considered a plus
