POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of our U.S. business. This role is responsible for full-cycle accounting activities, financial reporting, compliance, payroll support, tax coordination, and inventory accounting within a manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong technical accounting knowledge, experience working in an international organization, and the ability to operate independently while collaborating with global finance teams. This position will work closely with colleagues in Germany and support the financial integrity of the U.S. entity.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
CANDIDATE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform full-cycle accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close processes.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with IFRS and company reporting requirements.
- Support financial reporting and consolidation activities with global headquarters.
- Manage accounts payable, expense reporting, and payroll-related accounting activities.
- Support cash management, banking activities, and cash flow reporting.
- Assist with inventory accounting, inventory reconciliations, and manufacturing cost analysis.
- Coordinate with external providers on sales tax, property tax, income tax, and other compliance requirements.
- Support annual audits and provide requested documentation to external auditors.
- Maintain and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Support ERP system maintenance and process improvements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Operations, Supply Chain, HR, and Sales to support business objectives.
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and general accounting principles.
- Experience performing full-cycle accounting in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience working within an international organization and collaborating with global finance teams.
- Ability to work East Coast hours to collaborate with international teams
- Understanding of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing operations.
- Experience supporting audits and tax compliance activities.
- Proficiency with ERP systems; SAP S/4HANA experience preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
