POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • The Technical Conformity Engineer is responsible to ensure compliance demonstration of Nikon SLM products to regulations applicable in our customer markets and to internal product requirements and to execute the safety risk assessment in accordance to DIN EN ISO 12100
  • Furthermore, you ensure demonstration of compliance of the implemented system to these regulations and to product specific requirements, including safety, especially the achieved performance levels in accordance DIN EN ISO 13849 or other applied harmonized standards
  • You derive requirements on the safety functions of the Nikon SLM products
  • This includes regular research about all applicable regulations and standards, whether they are new or changed, to keep the Nikon SLM technical compliance data base up to date
  • You are the specialist contact with external product safety suppliers with the target to insource core product safety standards know how
  • This includes, but is not limited to, managing of external partners supporting Nikon SLM technical documentation and safety risk assessment activities

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree or equivalent certification in the field of engineering - 3+ years of work experience in the area of product safety and technical compliance is a strong plus
  • You have a general knowledge in safety assessment in machinery safety or other safety critical products, i.e. aerospace, nuclear or medical applications
  • Solid knowledge and/or training with/in European Directive 2006/42/EG and especially with DIN EN ISO 12100, DIN EN ISO 13849 and DIN EN IEC 61508 or experience in handling other applicable standards
  • Your experiences in execution of V-lifecycle process especially under the aspect of safety engineering set you apart
  • You are fluent in English and can anticipate potential industrialization issues and address design in advance to overcome them
  • You are a confident communicator and team player
